The Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. A metal workshop founded in the 19th century, Carl Auböck is still situated in its original premises in Vienna, with the fourth generation of the family now at the helm. The company is famous for the modernist designs designed in the 1950s by one of the best-known figures of Austrian modernism Carl Auböck II (1900–1957). Made of solid brass, the Peanut Bowl features a beautiful patinated surface and polished edges. Boasting a fluid shape, the bowl evokes an odd contrast as it feels almost organic, yet has a deep industrial feel. The bowl makes a striking accent piece to any surface and can also be used as an ashtray.
